City Farmer was founded in 2009 by Jan Dillon as a gathering place to realize our mission; to engage, motivate and inspire urban dwellers to garden, eat better and teach their children to follow; and to create an identity that says it all in two words.
Our Mission: The mission of City Farmer is to connect urban dwellers with the values, principles and practices of urban homesteading, urban farming, community gardening, locavorism and edible schoolyards. Second only to those values and practices is the identity itself: I am a City Farmer!
Please join City Farmer on Facebook and visit our newest page, Desert Urban Gardens, focused on urban agriculture in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Thank you!

Hi, wondering where you got the pics of the gardens for your blog on the bicycle garden tour, we need one like the second photo on that page for a climate change exhibit. Please give me a call or send an e-mail if you can share those pics, or know how we can find similars…
Sincerely,
Kris Ingram

Hi Jan,
Congrats on your work. We are City Farmer in Vancouver and have been working in urban agriculture since 1978, using the name ‘City Farmer’ for almost 32 years. Our first web site “Urban Agriculture Notes” went up in 1994, and our present web site “City Farmer News” can be visited at http://www.cityfarmer.info
Best wishes, Mike
Jan
I came across your site while looking for something else on Facebook and thought I would contact you. I host a radio show that deals with growing veggies and I wondered if you would be interesting in being a guest.
The show is America’s Home Grown Veggie Show and it airs from a station in North Atlanta every Saturday morning. I tape the show about a week or so ahead of time so that I can make any edits necessary. The show is downloaded to the station site (www.americaswebradio.com) as well as to itunes.
If you are interested please let me know at ktcopsey@aol.com
Thank you
